A wintery landscape taken on my memorable extended weekend trip to Moab, Utah earlier this year. This images shows Turret Arch in Arches National park veiled in fog.
Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season, and a great new year!
This is an excellent scene! A desert in slumber. This photo brings a solemn feeling because of the colors, light, and framing. The colors of the sandstone and sky are so soft and have balance. Turret Arch's ledges and cracks are well defined by the low light and light snow. Your timing is great. I like the distances from the left-hand rock and tree to the staggered shrubs, back to the arches and further. It may fill the frame and give a good start for the eye to bring the top edge just above the pinnacle rock, and the bottom edge to the base of the shrubs.
Fantastic! I love the contrast between the cool blues of the snow and the red of the rock, and the composition works exceptionally well with the mist - very dramatic. The backdrop of the clouds help accentuate it too.
We didn't get nearly so spectacular of fog while we were there - about two weeks before you judging by the time/date information - but the snow was gorgeous on the red of the rock. I need to go through my own pictures soon. >.< Anyway, nice work!
