They Call it Canyonlands by tourofnature They Call it Canyonlands by tourofnature
Rain and wind were a constant this past weekend in the Moab area. While not great for backpacking and mountain biking, this weather instability lends well to dramatic landscapes.

Shafer Canyon with the LaSal Mountain Range in the distance, Canyonlands NP, Utah.

Canon 5D. 17-40L. Circ Polarizer. 2HS GND filter.

I appreciate that, the sky was really dark at the time, but maybe the 2stops is a bit too much. I may try to adjust that a little bit.

Excellent DOF in this one. I like the dramatic feel in this image. Maybe a slight boost in contrast though? Personal preference. Gonna try to head up to Moab within the next few months.

Thanks, I did boost the contrast and adjusted the levels, it was a bit soft. Thanks Peter, there are tons of things to do in the area. plenty of adventure to be had down there.

You could go crazy w night shots, the light pollution isn't bad, I've only done night shots there once in the winter with fog, and that shot I got is one of my personal favorites. Besides photogrpahy the ares's got world class whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, ect...

I'd love to do the whitewater rafting there as well as the grand canyon. Backpacking there would be fun if it's permitted.

Didn't really do anything different on this one, it did come out nice and sharp tho. It was a great weekend, when are we going to go shoot AI again. I saw that shot you got below Buffalo point, awesome sky.
