Snow, Fog, and Arches by tourofnature Snow, Fog, and Arches by tourofnature
This is my favorite image from my trip down south. I was literally scrambling to put this composition together because I knew the light wasn't going to last very long. These are some of the most unique conditions I've had the privilege to take photographs in. It seemed as soon as the sky lit up these amazing orange and reds hues, it turned right back to the hazy gray of the fog. I felt relieved, excited, and fortunate all at once to snap these few images.

Near the North Window, Arches NP, Utah.

Canon 5D. 24-105mm. Blended exposures.

This is absolutely stunning! Perfectly exposed, beautiful colours, good detail - just lovely.
Did you use a graduated ND filter or manage to work out the sky and landscape with multiple exposures?
The red in the shadows - is that from a filter or post-processing?

The composition does feel a bit hurried, which makes sense according to your comment. The dark blotch of the tree so close to the horizon - the darkest patch in the whole image - ends up distracting from the rock formations. Still - amazing colors and good contrast, very unique indeed.
