I've been hoping for a rainy overcast day for the past few weeks.
This is Lambs Canyon, which is steep and happens to run north to south, meaning that there is no chance of good early morning or late evening light because of the steep canyon walls to the east and west block the sun. Knowing that, I've been waiting for a rainy day to 1) help saturate the colors with moisture and 2) diffuse the mid-day light to provide for idea shooting conditions. Today's storm was perfect for both and this shot was my favorite from the day.
