This was take on a blistering cold evening. The very last rays of light were cast on the drifted, dry prairie snow. In finding the composition, I used the stark contrast of opposite colors (blue and orange) to help lead the viewers eye into the landscape. These are the water's of the Great Salt Lake, the high salt content is the only reason the water isn't completely frozen over.
I've never seen this place with snow
