Dream Lake II by tourofnature Dream Lake II by tourofnature
An image from my morning of shooting the Bear Lake area of Rocky Mountain National Park. This is one of the most picturesque lakes I've ever photographed and if you time the light right, it looks amazing in photos. (do a search for Dream Lake and you'll see what I mean)

Dream Lake, RMNP, Colorado.

Canon 5D. 24-105 L. 2 SS GND filter. Cir Polarizer.

Oh, what a pretty spot. It's got everything! Rock, trees, water--I like how the upper part of the lake is rippled and disturbed, and in the foreground, it's completely still (with a great reflection!).

You did miss the best light - and that is key for photographing this landscape. Another trip would be well worth the effort. I like your work.

nice - we might have to do a battle of the dream lake pics ? but i'd think you'd win......
i went up this morning and got some nice shots - actually had some clouds with snow - and some really nice color.

you have better glass, plus you'r shooting full frame.
the only thing i have in my court - is that i live close to it and can pick the right day.
it takes me about an hour and half from my house to the lake...

Yah, It was so subtle I thought I'd leave it, apparently its not as subtle as I thought. I'll try and rework it to correct it. Thanks

I like the place and the composition but sadly it's so color-less. :(

I agree, I missed the best light that morning because there were clouds on the opposite horizon. I'll be back to shoot it again someday.
