Autumn Experience

Description

I got myself up before sunrise in an attempt to capture the fall colors in the Wasatch mountains to the east. Driving towards my destination I could see the thin bands of clouds high in the atmosphere and from experience I expected them to light up in this colorful show. Right on cue, as the sun's rays hit they glowed pink.

The unique clouds, fog in the valley, and brilliant yellows of the aspen trees combined for a memorable Autumn experience.

Wasatch Mountains, Utah.

Wonderful landscape on the whole. Your early day paid off quite well! There is a beautiful sense of place and rustic air you have presented.

If I had any issue with this at all, it's almost that you did too well in capturing this scene. There are so many different elements going on here, it's easy to lose focus. I have a hard time concentrating on any individual aspect, whether it's the mountain, the fog, or the trees in the foreground. I would even go so far to say that compared to everything else in the photo, the trees in the bottom left are almost a distraction, as they are far less colorful or well-spaced as the rest.

Those are minor details, though. Great job on this one.
