I finally had chance to get out for some proper Autumn photography in my local area. I had staked this patch of aspens previously and returned in the morning for what I hoped would be a memorable sunrise.

Wasatch Mountains, Utah.

You captured the right moment for beautiful colors, deep shadows and excellent contrast. Your composition is perfect, and I am glad you included the delicate white whispy clouds in the beautiful bright blue sky. The horizon of the mountains give vibrant movement and energy to this photo, and along with the colors of the leaves liven up the landscape. (It is too easy to get a "blah" landscape that looks like all the others!) The small patches of crisp snow also encourage the eye to keep moving throughout the work and allow for contrast that is necessary in a high quality landscape photo. This is a great photo, and you should feel very good about the quality of your work!
