The "World Famous" fire wave in Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park. This was my first visit to this place and I was impressed by the diversity of colors presented in the sandstone. I've seen plenty of rocky country in southern Utah, but never have I seen the yellow, purples and deep reds that Valley of Fire displays.
I spent some time thinking about how this might have been created. Trying to comprehend the incomprehensible amount of time it must have taken to form this place. I never really found any good answers, so I just enjoyed the formations at their best in the light of a desert sunset.
